Gusto does indeed jam

Been working on a site for a friend's band, Gusto, which features my pals from Santa Cruz, Dave Dinsmore ( Bl'ast!, Unida, Ché) and Mike Neider (Bl'ast!), playing with drummer, Alfredo Hernández (Ché, Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age). gusto-logo_0.jpg They played their first show last week in Hollywood and it was a pretty rockin' set. They have more shows in February here in California and can't wait to see them again. The songs are heavy, but not slow and durgy like some stoner rock. Songs are mid-tempo with a ting of new wave (Mike is a huge Devo fan), and just plain rockin'. Imagine a nice mix of all the previous bands they've been in with an influence of Fu Manchu The site is built in Drupal and while the look and feel is a bit rough, the site has given me an opportunity to build out a real live band site with some ideas I've had bouncing in my head. No real custom programming so far, with the exception of the custom theming. Most of the work has been done using off-the-shelf modules and configuring through the GUI. It's a nice way to have a live, working example of a band site in Drupal that I can mess around with. So far, the experience has been really fun. TO DO: Add some multi-media hooks, audio, video, and tighten up the skin. Gusto3_2.jpg
